The US Forest Service is currently seeking public comment on two project proposals on the upper Deschutes River, both are designed restore degraded riparian areas along the river.

Upper Deschutes River Riparian Habitat Conservation Area Restoration will close a number of unauthorized roads and campsites created in the 9 miles below Wickiup Reservoir.  Deschutes River Trail Restoration will close numerous user created trails created along the existing trail system between Benham Falls and Bend.  Comments on both of these projects can be submitted to comments-pacificnorthwest-deschutes-bend-ftrock@fs.fed.us.

I encourage anglers in favor as well as those opposed to submit comments.  My experience is that project proposals get far more comments in opposition than in support which can skew perception of the projects.
