ODFW issued a press release today announcing a $27.6M (!) “claim of recovery” against the Winchester Water Control District (WWCD) and their contractors, “one of the largest damages claims for illegal killing of wildlife that has been filed in the state”. I have no idea how this will wind its way through the courts, but based on what I have read, it’s an amount that will be next to impossible for WWCD to pay.
